It is often thought that exercise will only aggravate the symptoms associated with fibromyalgia, but the opposite is true. Yoga is a proven fibromyalgia exercise that will alleviate pain, increase blood flow, and relieve stress (which is a symptom of fibromyalgia). Low impact exercises are the best form of exercise for those suffering from fibromyalgia, and because yoga involves gentle and controlled movements, it is one of the best forms of exercise.

How is yoga a beneficial fibromyalgia exercise?

Yoga focuses on breathing, and relaxation, which decreases the anxiety levels that are connected with fibromyalgia. Yoga also focuses on movements and stretches, which helps with the flexibility of tendons and joints. Many people with fibromyalgia feel comfortable doing yoga because they can do it in the comfort of their own home, its great for beginners, and the postures are very easy to do.

Yoga is my top fibromyalgia exercise of choice because it improves the sufferers psychological state and provides relief from the main symptoms of fibromyalgia.
